About:
Purpose of the Course: The purpose of Trainer’s Edge is to provide & help develop the platform skills of a trainer. It is meant to supplement the practice offered through Wood Badge & NYLT staff development with a focus on the participant, while raising the level of skill a trainer brings to the staff experience. Only practice can polish these skills, but this course is intended to “train the trainer” on behaviors & resources while offering hands-on experience in methods & media.
Participants will need to be prepared to make a 10-12 minute presentation to the team on a Scouting topic of their choice (include a visual aid).
Who: Any Scout Leader who wants to further their training experiences & knowledge. Scout leaders who have a training responsibility in their unit, district or council level. Leaders who serve on the District or Council training team are strongly urged to participate in this course as it will help in presentation methods & techniques. Also, any leader that will be serving on a Wood Badge Staff is required to complete this course. Pack Trainers are also encouraged to take this course.
What: Trainer’s Edge is a training course designed to strengthen presentation skills of presenters & help them fine tune their own skills.
