Dismissal to Return Home

Welcome to Shooting Sports Day!  We want everyone to have a fun, safe day, so it is important that parents and leaders review the rules and procedures below.  As a result of guidance by the state of Louisiana and the council Risk Management team, we need all participants to be familiar with and follow the rules/guidance given.  Failure to adhere to rules or instructions by the event Health and Safety Monitor may result in participants being asked to leave the event prior to completing all the rotations.  Please take the time to review these rules with your scouts prior to coming.

  1. Registration will be limited to a set number per time slot.  This group is called a cohort and will stay together throughout the activity.  If the cohort is full, it is full – we cannot make any additions or add to the size of a cohort.
  2. Please arrive in a timely fashion so we can remain on schedule (10-15 minutes prior to the start of your cohort to allow for check-in)
  3. Scouts must be in Tiger Dens or higher (Wolf/Bear/Webelos/Arrow of Light) to participate in BB Shooting. Lions will have an alternate activity scheduled.
  4. A parent or guardian must attend with their scout – there are no drop offs for this event.  If a family has multiple scouts, please make sure they are in the same cohort – only one parent needs to attend.  No siblings or unregistered scouts, please.
  5. Masks/face coverings are to be worn during this event per state department of health guidelines.  Participants will be issued safety glasses at check-in.
  6. All participants should bring a chair and a water bottle (filled from home).  When sitting, cohorts should maintain social distance.  Hand sanitizer will be available at multiple locations and should be used frequently.
  7. After check-in, participants will assemble in a waiting area until the cohort fills or its scheduled start time.  At the scheduled start time, participants will begin the activity with a safety brief.
  8. After the conclusion of the safety brief, participants will be dismissed to their first shooting area.  Movement to each area will be by cohort – groups need to stay together!
  9. Participants must follow all instructions by the Range Safety Officers while on the ranges – safety first!!  Equipment will be cleaned between cohorts and may cause some delays.  Your patience is appreciated.
  10. A Health and Safety Monitor will be observing conditions and provide corrections as needed if violations are observed.  Failure to follow instructions may result in dismissal from the activity.
  11. Following the last event, participants will be dismissed and should head to their vehicles – do not mingle with other cohorts in the shooting areas!
