COVID-19 Update

Southeast Louisiana Council

As a leadership organization, we want to do our best to assist with any potential spread of Coronavirus and keep our Scouting family and community healthy. We are following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the states of Louisiana and Mississippi, and local health officials.

Scout Service Center Operations in Metairie, LA

Beginning Tuesday, March 17 we will begin a process to operate remotely for some of our employees. For the time being our staff will continue their dedicated work and will be available via email for questions, needs, and service to you.  If you have something to drop off, you can drop it in the mail slot in suite 101.  Council Services will not be open for business during this time.  Eagle applications will be accepted in the mail slot at suite 101 and will be processed.  Please give us at least a week to process these applications.  You will be emailed when it is completed.  Click here for staff contact info

Scout Shop:

The Scout Shop will remain open during normal business hours but that may change. Our local scout shops are administered by the national office and we will update you on any changes.  For more information, please call them directly at 504-887-3000 or email at


Camp will be closed until it is safe to return.  We are working to look at specific events and determine if we can reschedule and will put out that plan once we have more direction from the authorities.  If you have scheduled any camping trips with your unit or have paid for an event at camp, please send an email to regarding a refund or hold of your payment.  At this time, we are moving forward with all summer camp planning. 

Unit/District/Council Meetings and Events:

All in person district and council meetings, trainings, or events will be canceled starting March 16th and until it is determined it is safe to resume.

Units please consult with your Chartered Organization on what to cancel or postpone.

?Units please consider switching to virtual gatherings utilizing conference calls or online video conferencing. Keep in close contact with your unit and district leadership to understand what has been postponed or shifted online. Please consider ways you can move Scouting forward by using technology.

?In the coming days we will send an additional communication with fun ways for families to continue their Scouting journey while children are not in school and unable to meet together. Many achievements can be earned at home.
