DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) \n  \n  \n May 30, 2026 \n  \n  \n Lakeview Presbyterian CHURCH \n  \n 5914 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA. \n  \n  \n 8am – 1pm \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Fleur de Lis district is holding this youth leader training to help fulfill adult scout leaders’ responsibility to train their youth.  \n  \n  \n The purpose of the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops course is to teach Scouts, who have leadership positions, about their new roles and how to most effectively achieve success in that role.  It is intended to help all Scouts in leadership positions (elected and appointed), within their troop, understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities.  ILST is the first course in the series of leadership trainings offered to Scouts BSA.  Completion of this course is prerequisite for Scouts to participate in more advanced youth leadership training courses, including National Youth Leader Training (NYLT).  \n  \n  \n Cost: $10.00 per participant (Covers Lunch and TRAINED Patch, supplies) \n  \n  \n            $5.00 per Staff  \n  \n  \n Check-in time: 7:30-8:00 am,  \n  \n  \n Check-out time: approx. 1:00 pm \n  \n  \n Registration Closes on Midnight May 28, 2026 \n  \n  \n Requirements:  \n  \n  \n Uniform (Class A) \n  \n  \n Scoutmaster’s approval \n  \n  \n Have Pencil, paper, Scouts BSA Handbook and be ready to learn! \n  \n
