The Southeast Louisiana and Pine Burr Area Councils will conduct the following NRA Range Safety Officer and NRA Instructor classes . \n  \n  \n NRA Instructor Training i.s for experienced shooters . Your rifle and/or shotgun shooting skills and experience will be reviewed and demonstrated as a part of the qualification process. \n  \n  \n These training courses will help you develop the additional knowledge, skills and attitude needed to organize and teach others. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n  \n  \n NRA Range Safety Officer Training Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026. 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM \n  \n Fee: $30.00 \n  \n Registration Deadline: Friday, Sept. 4, 2026 \n  \n  \n NRA Basic Instructor Training \n  \n  \n Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026. 8:00 AM- 3:00 PM Fee: $20.00 \n  \n  \n Registration Deadline: Friday, Sept. 4, 2026 \n  \n  \n      Location: (AJI classes) Salmen Scout Reservation 27585 V-Bar Road, _ Perkinston, MS 39573 \n  \n   \n  \n NRA Basic Rifle Shooting and Rifle Instructor Training \n  \n  \n Friday, October 9- Sunday, October 11, 2026 Friday 6:00 PM - Sunday 4:00 PM \n  \n  \n Fee: $75.00 \n  \n  \n Registration Deadline: Friday, Sept. 18, 2026 \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting and Shotgun Instructor Training \n  \n  \n Friday, November 13-Sunday, November 15, 2026 Friday 6:00 PM - Sunday 4:00 PM. \n  \n  \n Fee: $55.00 \n  \n  \n Registration Deadline: Friday, October 23, 2026 \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n You must successfully complete the following to become an NRA Range Safety Officer or NRA instructor -  NRA Range Safety Officer: NRA Range Safety Officer Training \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n NRA Instructor: \n  \n  \n 	NRA Basic Instructor Training (prerequisite for any Instructor Training ), and one or both of the following shooting di sciplines : \n 	Rifle Instructor (includes Basic Rifle Shooting Instruction , Rifle Shooting Qualification and Rifle Instructor Training) \n 	Shotgun Instructor (includes Basic Shotgun Shooting Instruction, Shotgun Shooting Qualification and Shotgun Instructor Training) \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n  \n Registration: You must register online for these courses. Select "Click for more Details" to go to the course registration page. \n 	Fill out the requested information. Please include your BSA and NRA information . \n 	Hit "Register". You must repeat the registration process for each class. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n  \n 	Southeast Louisiana Council (SELA) webpag www.bsa-selacounci l.org . \n  \n  \n All course fees will be paid to the Southeast Louisiana Council through this regist ration. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n Upon completion of the course, you will be required to complete the certification process by paying NRA Trainer Credential fees to the NRA. The current NRA Trainer Credential fees are: \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n NRA Member: pt course, $40.00 plus $20.00 for each additional certification. (2-year certification). \n  \n  \n Non-NRA Member: pt course, $175.00 plus $40.00 for each additional certification . (2-year certification) .
