NRA Range Safety Officer Class.
Fee: $20.00.
The NRA Range Safety Officer course teaches the basic duties of a Range Safety Officer. It provides a thorough introduction to: the role of Range Safety Officers (RSOs); range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range safety briefings; range inspections and rules; emergency procedures; and how clear firearm stoppages and correct malfunctions.
The class will be conducted in the upstairs conference room at the Council Service Center. Pre-registration for the class is required. The class will run from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The fee for the class is $20.00. (Lunch will NOT be provided.)
The course is open to any registered Scouter, 21 years of age or older. There is a limit of 12 participants in the course. Also, we must have at least six students pre-registered for the class by February 24th, 2017 for class to be conducted.
Registration is a two part process, you must complete both parts:
- Fees are payable to the Southeast Louisiana Council, BSA at the Register button below.
- To register with the NRA go to NRAInstructors.org. Select “Find a Course”. Scroll down to SAFETY, select “NRA Basic Range Safety Officer” course. Go to SEARCH and click BSA only and enter 70001 for the Zip code, and hit SEARCH. This will take you to the course information page. Select Click for Details. This will take you to the Course Registration page. Enter the requested information and hit REGISTER.
In order to be certified by the NRA, participants will have to be a current NRA member. There are additional credentialing fees payable to the NRA following successful completion of the course.
