Youth Protection training is required for all BSA registered volunteers. As of August 2013, the Southeast Louisiana Council Service Center will no longer accept adult leader applications without an attached Youth Protection certificate of completion.

Youth Protection training must be taken every two years. If a volunteer’s Youth Protection training record is not current at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be reregistered.

#1 - To take Youth Protection training visit MyScouting.org to create an account.

From the MyScouting.org portal, click on E-Learning and take the Youth Protection training.  You can also check the Training Section on the front page of the Website for local Youth Protection Training happening in the council.

#2 - Upon completion, please print a certificate of completion to summit with a volunteer application or submit the completion certificate to the unit leader for processing at the Council Service Center.

#3 - When your volunteer application is approved, you will receive a BSA membership card with includes your membership ID number.

#4 - After you receive you membership card, log back into MyScouting, click on My Profile and update the system by inputting your membership ID number.  This will link your Youth Protection training records and any other training, in MyScouting to your BSA membership.
