If you have plans to camp at V Bar this spring, we have an update to the schedule that was printed in our 2025-2026 calendar.

As many of you have seen, the roads at Camp V Bar are in great need of repair.  Along with the roads, the dam has needed repair for several years.  Thankfully, the Air Force Reserve Command has agreed to provide the personnel necessary to make these repairs and improvements.  Their work will begin April 20, 2026 and the plan is to finish up by the end of June.  As I am sure you understand, the safety of our Scouts, leaders, and families is of the utmost importance. To make sure these repairs are completed before July, the work will be done seven days a week. For this reason, it means that no Scouts, leaders, or their families will be able to be on the property during the repair time period of 04/20/2026-06/30/2026.

This means that several things, already planned, will have to be changed.  A group is working diligently to plan on date changes for Scouts BSA Summer Camp to move from June to July. Also, Cub World will move to April 17-19.  Fortunately, only one unit had reserved a campsite for the time period when camp will be closed.  We have reached out to them to work out a weekend when they can reschedule.  If you have any concerns, please send an email to sela@scouting.org.
