My name is Madeline Short, and I’m a Regional Manager with Special Olympics Louisiana, overseeing programs in the Greater New Orleans Area and Bayouland parishes. This Saturday, October 11th, we’ll be hosting our Regional Horseshoes Competition at Monsanto Park, and we’re currently in need of additional volunteers to help make the event a success. Volunteers will assist with scorekeeping, escorting athletes, and awards. No prior horseshoes experience is needed—training will be provided the morning of the event! Volunteer check-in and setup will begin at 7:00 a.m., with competition running from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.
