General Information
All Parents and Leaders are encouraged to review the guide linked above.
The Cub Overnighter is designed for Cub Scouts and their families to have fun in the outdoors featuring activities like shooting sports, outdoor skills, and many others. Cub Scouts are required to have a parent with them for the entire event, but the whole family is welcome as well, so nobody has to get left at home!
Families will camp with their Cub Scout Pack as a group, but you can arrive or leave at whatever time works for your family’s schedule. Choose to stay overnight or just to visit for the daytime activities. Activities will include demonstrations by the JPSO and SWAT team along with the Kenner Fire Dept. and their smoke house on Friday as well as a campfire program and flag retirement ceremony. Saturday will feature Archery, BB, Scavenger Hunt, and games for Scouts and their families.
Meals at Camp: We encourage you not cook while at camp. Campfires are prohibited and cooking stoves are discouraged Each Pack (or individual family) will be responsible for their food arrangements. Please bring dinner or eat before you arrive on Friday night. The Pelican District will provide a few late night snacks at the Cracker Barrel before lights out on Friday night. Saturday morning the Pelican District will provide a light breakfast of doughnuts and juice/coffee. If you would like to have lunch at the park please pack a bag lunch in your coolers for Saturday. Ordering Pizza or other delivery options are allowed as well.
