The Shooting Sports Committee will be offering a Cub Scout Shooting Sports Range Officer Training on Saturday, February 5th at Camp V-bar. The course is scheduled to start at 9:00 AM at the Camp V-Bar Training Center and conclude at 1:00 PM. There is no charge for the course – participants will need to bring their own lunch/snacks. The training certifies the safety officer for two years.
In accordance with the Guide to Safe Scouting, shooting sports for Cub Scouts can only occur at district or council functions. Individuals certified to run Cub Scout shooting sports can only run those ranges at district or council activities – ranges can NOT be conducted at the unit level.
- Course is free – participants will need to bring a sack lunch
- Course will be Saturday, February 5, from 9-1 at Camp V-bar. Participants will meet at the Training Center (log cabin with the scout statue)
- Participants must be at least 18 years of age to be certified
