Honoring John Georges, James Maurin, Jim Tucker, and Mark Young

Thursday, July 14th – Reception 11:00 - Luncheon Noon – Audubon Tea Room

John Georges Chief Executive Officer, Georges Enterprise has cultivated achievements in both the public and private business sectors. Georges has strived to maintain marked integrity in the local, regional, statewide and national communities. Through successful business developments, faith-based initiatives and philanthropic efforts, Georges remains a driving force.  After graduating from Tulane University where he majored in management with an emphasis on accounting, John worked for his family business, Imperial Trading Co., which was started by his immigrant grandfather. He took the family’s company to a billion-dollar corporation. John and Dathel live in New Orleans with their children Zana, Liza and John Jr. (Nike).

James Maurin - Mr. Maurin is one of the founders of Stirling Properties and served as its chairman from 1992 thru 2012. Some of Mr. Maurin’s business and community involvement include: Ochsner Health: Member of the Board of Directors and Past Chairman, Louisiana State University: Past Chairman of the Tiger Athletic Foundation, LSU Honorary Doctor of Human Letters, Northshore Community Foundation, Young President’s Organization (YPO Gold): Member and Past Chairman, YPO Gold, Louisiana, Tulane University: Freeman Business School Council. Freeman Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year, Air Force Reserve (Captain), 1972-1978. Graduated in Aerospace Engineering from LSU in 1970. He received an MBA from Tulane University in 1972 and began his business career as a CPA with the international accounting firm of Ernst and Ernst.

Jim Tucker - President & CEO of CommCare Management Corporation. CommCare is the largest not-for-profit skilled nursing home operator in the State of Louisiana. Mr. Tucker is responsible for all aspects of the Corporation. Prior to becoming CEO in 2015, he was managing partner in a number of family-owned real estate ventures. From 2001 to 2012, he served as State Representative for District 86 in the Louisiana House of Representatives and served as Speaker of the House from 2008 to 2012. Mr. Tucker has served as Chairman of the Algiers Development District, as a Trustee of Baptist Community Ministries, and as Board Chairman of the UNO Foundation. Mr. Tucker earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The University of New Orleans.  Jim earned his Eagle Scout in 1979 from troop 199 at Aurora United Methodist Church. 

Mark Young - Serves as Council Commissioner for the Southeast Louisiana Council and as an Assistant Scoutmaster to Troop 223 in Kenner, LAHe is married to Stephanie, and they live in Metairie. He has a daughter Sara and an Eagle Scout son Alex. Mark is an Eagle Scout, Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, member of the National Eagle Scout Association and a member of the Scouting Alumni Association and was awarded the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award just this year. Mark is also Wood Badge trained and has served on staff for multiple Wood Badge courses including Course Director in 2018. As a youth Mark served on summer camp staff at V-Bar for several years. In 1976 he was one of two Scouts who represented Louisiana in Washington DC as a member of an Eagle Scout Troop established by the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA).

Organization Facts - The Southeast Louisiana Council, Boy Scouts of America will provide youth development and leadership programs to approximately 4,000 young people in 11 parishes through Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring programs during 2022. 

Funds raised from this event will provide:

Direct service to Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, Venture Crews, and Explorer Posts – Unit Organization, Youth Recruitment, Volunteer Training, Service to Volunteers, Staff Assistance

  • Program Services – Camping, Activities, Training, Insurance
  • Support Services – Office Support, Equipment, Salmen Scout Reservation and Camp V-Bar
  • Funds to help youth in need experience the wonderful opportunity Scouting provides

Pillars of Scouting Investment Levels:

  • $25,000 Investor -  (Eagle Scout) Two full tables (20 Guests), signage, listing in program and at 2 tables, 5 minutes at podium during lunch if desired.
  • $15,000 Reception Sponsor – One and a half tables (15 Guests), signage during the reception and recognition at the podium during the program 
  • $10,000 Investor - (Life Scout) – One and a half tables (15 Guests), signage, listing in program and table
  • $5,000 Investor - (Star Scout) – One full table (10 Guests), signage, listing in program and table
  • $2,500 Investor - (First Class Scout) – Partial table of 6 guests, a listing in program and table
  • $1,000 Investor - (Tenderfoot Scout)  – 4 guests, and a listing in program
  • $500 Investor -  (Scout) – 2 guests and a listing in program
  • Cub investor  –Attend event, must RSVP, invest in Scouting – request consideration of $100
    • 10 seats at each table

Sponsors are encouraged to bring guests to enjoy the program who might consider making an investment in Scouting’s youth development programs
