Kevin F. Jura Appointed to National Alumni Relations Committee

The Southeast Louisiana Council is proud to announce that Executive Board Member Kevin F. Jura has been appointed to Scouting America’s National Alumni Relations Committee.

In this prestigious national role, Kevin will report directly to the Committee’s Chairman and Vice Chairman for Strategy and Revenue. He will have a prominent seat at the table, helping guide the development of a National Strategic Plan and serving as the Committee’s Ombudsman, tasked with mediating and resolving conflicts among the Committee’s various pillars.

A 40-year Scouting veteran, Kevin earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1996 and has received numerous national and council-level honors, including the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA), Vigil Honor (1999), Venturing Silver Award (1999), Venturing Ranger Award (2000), Wood Badge (2000), Commissioner’s Key and Arrowhead Award (2014), and the District Award of Merit (2014).

His distinguished service spans all levels of Scouting: nationally (Order of the Arrow), regionally (NESA and Program), area-level (former NE Area 6 Exploring Chair), and within three separate Council Executive Boards. He has also held key roles as Council Vice President, Assistant Council Commissioner, and various council, district, and unit positions in his previous Councils.

Kevin has further contributed to the movement through multiple National Camp School Staff appointments, including serving twice as Assistant Camp School Director and as the Aquatics Renewal Section Director. Additionally, he staffed Camp Alpine, located within the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in Kandersteg, Switzerland.

However, Kevin has made it clear that his first priority and passion are helping our Council grow and succeed. Please join us in congratulating Kevin on this well-earned national appointment and in celebrating his continued leadership and service to Scouting.
