Because of having been selected as one of the national projects to be completed in Fiscal Year 2026, the U.S. Air Force Command sent soldiers from various parts of the country to camp on December 9th and 10th to plan for repairs to the dam and roads starting in April 2026.  The Council anticipates units from Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina to be visiting and staying at camp from April 2026 through June 2026 to complete these long-awaited repairs and improvements.  Over a year ago, the Council submitted applications for assistance pursuant to the Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program, and the U.S. Department of War (with the assistance of several federal officials) selected our Council for funding under the program.  Thus, the Council appreciates this opportunity and the ability to prepare the camp’s infrastructure for use by youth and adults for many years to come.
