Inclusiveness and Diversity Policy

Southeast Louisiana Council

Southeast Louisiana Council is deeply committed to positioning itself as the premier values-based youth development program in Louisiana by seeking to build excellence, enhance access, and have a positive impact on our communities, state, nation and the world. To do that requires our volunteer leadership and staff to reflect on the rich diversity of our community.

At Southeast Louisiana Council we believe that diversity is defined in the broadest sense, and includes but is not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, and Veteran status.

The council has a policy of promoting inclusiveness, while promoting a culture where every person feels respected and valued, and its staff, board, and volunteers reflect diversity in order to enrich its programmatic effectiveness. The council takes meaningful steps to promote inclusiveness in its hiring, retention, promotion, board recruitment, and constituencies served.
