Beaver Day 2025

The Council Properties Committee will be hosting an annual Beaver Day on Saturday, May 31^st, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, to prepare Camp V-Bar at Salmen Scout Reservation for the summer camps season.  As in the past, the day will be used to do improvements and repairs so the camp stays safe and functional for use by our Scouts and visitors.  The activities may include painting of the pool house, facilities cleaning, erosion control projects, campsite and latrine maintenance, tent set-up, program area maintenance, brush clearing, trail maintenance and other projects.  Both adults and Scouts may participate and should wear work clothes and bring work gloves, water, and, to the extent available to them, tools for brush clearing and working on repairs to buildings and facilities.  Lunch will be served and Scouting America registered adults and Scouts may arrive the evening before as long as they register beforehand.  Please contact Ken Klemm (Mobile:  504.453.1288), Vice President for Properties, if you have any questions or an interest in a particular project and please click here to register no later than Friday, May 24^th, for sufficient quantities of food to be available.
