The Shooting Sports Committee will offer Cub Scout Shooting Sports Range Officer Training for both BB and Archery ranges on Saturday, March 2nd, from 8:45-1:00, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (256 Angus Drive, Luling, LA). There is no cost for the training. Training will certify individuals to conduct range operations at District and Council events (Cub Scout units may not participate in Range Sports at the unit level, only at District or Council activities).
In accordance with the Guide to Safe Scouting, shooting sports for Cub Scouts can only occur at district or council functions. Individuals certified to run Cub Scout shooting sports can only run those ranges at district or council activities – ranges can NOT be conducted at the unit level.
