2024 SCOUT OVERNIGHTER - Cancelled
Date: Oct. 5 - 6
Location: Louis H Marrero Park, 1200 Avenue D, Westwego, LA
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Special Activity: Bring Non-Perishable Food Items
The Scout Overnighter will be held at the Louis Marrero Park in Westwego. The park is located on the corner of Avenue D and Vic A. Pitre Drive (next to the Westwego Gym).
Once again it is that time of year when we recruit new youth to our packs. It is also that time of year that we give them their first unique camping experience in the form of the Scout Overnighter. As you know Cub Scouting is the back bone and our supply of new youth to our troops.
Scoutmasters:
I would like to ask that you and your troop participate by hosting a game or activity for the youth to participate in. The impression we make on them now will mean they stay in scouting and make that trail to Eagle. Once again I cannot stress the importance of us making a good first impression.
Cubmasters:
I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to make this a great campout for the cubs by having your unit put on a game or some other form of activity for them to enjoy.
You and your unit can make this campout a great and memorable experience for everyone. By showing our new people a good time on their first outing, they will surely want to come back.
