With so much going on in our communities, with people losing their jobs and needing a little help to get by, the Council is starting a food/necessities pantry in suite 125.  There will be a unit competition for most number of items donated.

If you need items, after November 12, 2025, you can come take what you need (free of charge) and let other Scouting families know what is available.

If you can donate, please drop off your items in suite 125. See below for a sample list of non-perishable items.  Thank you!

 Food items

  • Proteins: Canned chicken, tuna, salmon, beans, and lentils. Peanut butter and other nut butters are also great options.
  • Grains: Pasta, rice (especially brown rice), instant oatmeal, and breakfast cereal.
  • Fruits and vegetables: Canned or dried fruits and vegetables, especially low-sodium canned vegetables and fruit packed in juice.
  • Soups and meals: Canned soups, stews, and chili. Pasta sauce and mac and cheese boxes are also welcome.
  • Cooking essentials: Cooking oil (canola or vegetable), spices, and seasonings can turn simple meals into something more nutritious.
  • Kid-friendly items: Shelf-stable milk or non-dairy alternatives and kid-friendly snacks can be helpful for families.
Non-food items
  • Personal care: Toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products.
  • Household supplies: Toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent, and cleaning products.
  • Baby care: Diapers and formula are often in high demand.
  • Pet food: Cat litter and various types of pet food are also appreciated.
Important considerations
  • Stick to non-perishables: Avoid donating perishable items like fresh produce, dairy, or baked goods.
  • Check expiration dates: Do not donate expired food.
  • Choose healthy options: Look for low-sodium and low-sugar options when possible.
